how to put fastener on folder

When it comes to keeping your paperwork organized, folders come in handy. They are perfect for storing your documents in one place and are easy to carry around. To make sure your papers do not fall out, folders come equipped with fasteners. However, not everyone knows how to put fasteners on folders.

In this article, we will be exploring how to put fasteners on a folder. We’ll break down the process into simple steps, so you can create your own organized and secure files. Whether you are a student or a professional, this information will come in handy.

Step 1: Choose Your Fasteners

Fasteners come in different shapes and sizes, but most are composed of two pieces: a metal bar and a prong. You will find them in both plastic and metal materials.

For folders, you need fasteners that have a matching metal bar and prong. You can find fasteners at any office supply store or online. Once you have the fasteners, you can move on to step 2.

Step 2: Mark Your Folder

To make sure your folder is neat and symmetrical, you need to mark where the fasteners will be placed. Take a ruler and measure 2.75 inches from the top and bottom of the folder. Mark these spots with a pencil.

Step 3: Punch Your Holes

With your folder marked, you can now punch a hole at each spot you have marked. You can use a single-hole puncher, which is available at any office supply store. This is where you will insert the fasteners.

Step 4: Insert the Prong into the Hole

Take the prong of the fastener and insert it from the outside of the folder through the hole on the inside. Make sure it is secured and does not fall out.

Step 5: Secure the Metal Bar

Once the prong is in place, take the metal bar and slide it over the prong from the other side of the folder. Make sure the metal bar is in the right position and lines up with the prong.

Step 6: Bend the Prong

With both the metal bar and prong in place, you can bend the prong downward, so it secures the metal bar in place. Be sure to press the prong firmly against the bar to ensure a secure fit.
